Save Me!

I told Dad that he was in charge of buying Greyson a life jacket for the cabin. I even did the preliminary looking. I checked out where the jackets were and the prices and then "let" him know which one to get. He bought a really nice one at Sams and we just had to try it on Greyson. Greyson did not like the idea of having something around him. Ha! To be fair, it was a bit big so maybe in another month or so he will like it better.

Best Shopping Trip Yet!

I had to run to Dillions today to cash in on some really great bargains. Here is what I got:

2 lbs of Organic carrots
3 Hearts of Romaine (Organic)
1.87 lbs of Turkey tenderloin
2 ears of Corn (which Luke is going to use to make corn chowder tomorrow - yummy!)
Scrubbing bubbles power sprayer
Scrubbing bubbles refill
Scrubbing bubbles shower cleaner

My grocery bill ended up being $7.40. What a steal!

I saved 79% with stacking coupons and rebates. When all was said and done, I bought all three Scrubbing bubbles for a total of $1.87 (less than I would have paid for 1)!

I love a good grocery deal.

My Sister The Graduate

What a day yesterday was! It was exciting to see Brittany graduate. The graduation itself was nothing special, but it marked the end of a chapter in Brittany's life. I hope that she looks back on high school and realizes that in the scheme of things it wasn't such a huge deal. On the flip side of that, I hope she remembers all the great times she had.

So Sleepy

Greyson has been cracking me up lately, well that and worrying me to death. I go check on him during naps and I'm always amazed at what I find.

Not only is he on his stomach (which he does all by himself) but there are wet spots on the bed. He drools everywhere these days.

Another funny one.
Daddy took this picture. He thought it was cute. Usually I don't let Greyson fall asleep like that, but he had a hard day. Its tough being a baby.

Potato-Onion Frittata by the Real Martha

We tried another MS recipe. This one was for a Potato Onion Frittata. I thought it was just ok, but Luke seemed to like it. In my expert opinion (LOL), it required more work than what it was worth. I think I will just stick to a regular breakfast casserole with bacon. Hmm, bacon..bacon..bacon. Speaking of bacon, I went to Farmlands website and signed up for free coupons. Eight of them came in the mail yesterday (free of charge) for a total savings of $6.75. Bacon at our house coming soon!

Here is a pic of the Potato-Onion Frittata

The Best Sandwich Ever!

I'm on a roll with picking out new recipes to try. The latest one was simply amazing. I usually enforce the rule that Luke can't alter the recipe the first time we have it, but I altered this one and boy oh boy was it good. The recipe called for smoked ham, but I used prosciutto instead. I might have used the ham if I knew how much the prosciutto was before I had it cut. I paid $5.15 for 1/2 a pound. Ridiculous!

Here's the recipe:

1/2 Proscuitto
1 (10) ounce package of Italian pizza crust
Provolone cheese
Romaine
1 cup diced tomatoes
3 tablespoons Italian salad dressing

1. Cook pizza crust
2. Arrange meat on pizza crust; place cheese evenly over meat
3. Broil on low until cheese starts to melt
4. Toss romaine, tomatoes, and salad dressing. Place salad evenly over melted cheese on half of the crust, and top with remaining half. Serve immediately.

The finished product:
